One day workshops are a three-hour immersion into the art of storytelling. Students receive collaborative and hands-on instruction in all elements of digital storytelling.

Creativity in Filmmaking
Monday, November 16
3:00 to 6:00 pm, $49

Creativity in Filmmaking directs students on how to develop their creativity into a viable original project for a short film. Students identify material that they have a strong personal connection with and learn how to develop it into a script idea.
Thursday, November 19
3:00 to 6:00 pm, $49

Screenwriting focuses on the fundamental principles and key elements of storytelling. Students analyze short stories for narrative structure, character design, dialogue, genre, and tone before applying them to their own scripts

Monday, November 30
3:00 to 6:00 pm, $49

Pre-Production introduces students to the second part of the filmmaking process. Students learn how to narrow down options and develop plans for scheduling, budgeting, script breakdowns, casting, and location agreements.

Monday, December 7
3:00 to 6:00 pm, $49

Directing introduces students to directing fundamentals with a focus on directing actors. Students explore the basic relationships between actor, text, and director while learning filmmaking fundamentals. Topics include casting, script analysis, working with actors, pre-visualization, basic camera staging, and formulating an overall visual project strategy.
